Dr Charlotte Hall

Charlotte’s background is as an Emergency Physician and Retrieval Medicine Consultant. Her interest in Human Factors began during her previous career as a Radiographer and Sonographer. Charlotte is a Medical Educator and a Researcher and was the lead investigator in the Trial of Emergency Medicine Protocols in Simulation Training (TEMPIST) conducted at the University Centre for Rural Health in Lismore, NSW, Australia. She is the editor of the Emergency Protocols resource and is currently co-authoring a book entitled “The Human Factor.”Charlotte is a champion for non-technical skills training and enjoys the synergy of improving patient safety and staff morale. She believes that the adoption of Human Factor principles in healthcare will improve workplace culture, sustainability and the well-being of patients and staff. Charlotte was part of the team that first presented the case for Human Factors science in healthcare to the Minister of Health in NSW Parliament. This led to engagement with the Clinical Excellence Commission and production of the Human Factors in Healthcare white paper. 
Charlotte's current work includes coaching and mentoring. She offers an opportunity for a reflective career pitstop. Mentees are encouraged to review their options and are assisted with the decision making process. This professional development also addresses common issues such as workload, managing stress, fatigue mitigation and burn-out recovery.
